Strawberry Fields Festival
So possibly the last festival of the season for bear was cool. Aside from the never before seen police dogs INSIDE the arena causing a bit of an odd atmosphere much fun was had.
The lads played (nearly) a 4 hour set in the main bar on the Saturday night to some massively enthusiastic peeps. Inbetween fending off requests (some good...some awful) and wrecked people falling into the decks bear laid down a solid hour thirty of Soul and Motown before ramping things up as the bar packed out. Some old school hip hop dropped by to surprisingly big reactions followed up by a load of breaks and mashups. So much fun was being had that the set ended before the bears had even touched on the dubstep and d&b arsenal.
Although security and health & safety definitely played their part in that...
Literally with 10 minutes to go security came in demanding the music stop immediately before dragging the bears outside and threatening to throw them off site for breaching the licence. In BB's defence when told conflicting things by peeps you're always going to go with the soundguy for the venue, especially if its the option that keeps the crowd happy...
Despite the cut short set the festival was awesome. A-skillz, jaguar skills and most surprisingly Kelis all smashed it as well as seeing few other cool things here and there.....the best being the bumper cars, fuckin epic.
So maybe Bear won't get invited back, shame, good to come and go with a bang though...

Formed just last year, 2011 has already been busy for the BreakinBear DVJ's. ‘Fall Apart’ was released on Toob Records in February while the lads hold down an increasingly hectic schedule in venues across Brighton, and festivals across the country. Their multi-genre sets cover anything that can hold the lad’s brief attention span. Their upbeat party sets include everything from hip hop, soul, d&b, electro, dubstep and breaks…all with the epic accompaniment of cleverly coordinated visuals.
